Default P0016 Cam shaft position bank one

I have an 09 Jaguar XF luxury 4.2 thats been starting rough. The other morning about 5 miles into my drive I hit 70mph, light changed so had to break quickly. When the light turn green I pressed the gas and the car wouldn’t go over a few mph. Put the car in neutral and the rpm’s pressed the gas rpm’s went over 2000. Put it back in drive and it would go over 1000 rpm’s. Got an engine system fault on the dash. Code P0016 camshaft position sensor bank 1. My question is where is this sensor located and will replacing this take care of the code and the Engine system fault?

You're in the X260 (2015 -on) forum. There's a forum on this site for the X250 model.
The 4.2 engine is fantastic - had it in my XK8! Generally bullet proof so hope you get this fixed easily.

Default P0016 on 09 XF 4.2

Hey was wondering if you found where the camshaft position sensor was located? I’m have the same P0016 code and I have a new sensor but can’t seem to locate the sensor. Thanks for any help.
