Mounted my FL Sunpass toll transponder on my XF to the right of the rear mirror and under the black spots on the windshield just the other day. Took her out on the FL Expressway and saw that it transponder was not reading. Called Sunpass and they said some vehicles, like Jag, have unique windshields that the transponder cannot transmit through. They said the only option is an external bumper mount on top of the front plates...but since FL does not have front plates, I need to purchase the external transponder and have the dealer install. In the meanwhile, they said no worries because each time I go through the toll plaza, they will take a pix of my plates and then do a look to see if I have an account...and charge me accordingly. But they said do not use it in the Miami Expessway as I'll have an upset cop on my hands.


Has anyone used the front transponder and is so how easy is it to install. Or should I just move.

 

Put it behind the mirror. Thats where mine sits, and it always works.
