Default Trim pulling away under navigation unit - RESOLVED

2018 XF Portfolio - bought new in July, ~1700 miles on it. Noticed this week that the trim has started to pull away under the nav unit (pics below) - I can push it in, but it pops out again. Before I take it to a dealer, wanted to ask if there's a trick to popping it back in place?
Disappointing....
Thanks
Ian

Resurrecting an old thread.

Picked my new one up last week and it has exactly the same fault - except of course it's on the right hand side.

Did your dealer repair it and if so how? I have no faith in my supplying dealer and it is a long way from me, so I would prefer to repair it myself if it's just a case of replacing an errant trim clip.

Timely resurrection - as I write the car is in for it's first service (another story - we bought the car in 7/18 as new but it turns out it, we didn't know it had been 'punched as sold' by the dealership in 10/17 so we were late in bringing in for this service in March of '18 and the (different) Jaguar dealership we took it to for service said they won't cover this first 'warranty' service. So we're dealing with this now). But in answer to your question, they have ordered a new piece - probably the upholstered part under the console - to fix this. I could not get it to stay in just by pushing - not sure about an errant trim clip.
Hope that's helpful.

Helpful yes - irritating in that it seems I will have to talk to my dealer and get it replaced under warranty.

Thank you for the update.

Just a quick follow-up - needed to be replaced by the dealer, but at least was covered under warranty....

Ian,

Thanks for posting the end of the story.

Useful for anyone searching for the same issue in future to know that repair wasn't possible and replacement was the only option.

Graham
