X260 Performance mods?

Well, to the contrary of a public opinion Radars are used much more frequently than Lidar (laser). You cannot operate laser on the move, during fog, rain etc. It is much more precise, but also much more complicated to operate. In fact, the last save I had (last week) was from Radar, not laser. I haven't been shot by laser once (MN to KS via IA and MO and back)
As for the ALP it is arguably the best system on the market. It gives you all the warning in the world because unless you turn it off (manually or with the timer) it jams all the time. So there is no reading of your speed while you are slowing down to PSL and then turning it off (or, if you choose so, it turns off by the timer)
Now, unless you add a radar antenna to an ALP setup (there is this option), or install a stand alone Radar Detector you will not get notified if you are tagged with Radar gun.
So you need the best radar on the market to not only to "catch" the scatters on Instant On pulses (when they tag the cars in front of you), but also filter out all the "noise" from BSM of cars around you and all the automatic doors openers. Unlike Laser, it is highly illegal to jam Radar (which is under FCC regulations. Laser is under FDA), so you rely on early warning. The earlier, the better.
In the nutshell - with ALM if you are tagged with Laser, you have a high chance of survival. With Radar no so much... With just a radar detector - same approach, but if you are tagged with laser, you are done. Radar relies on catching scattered radio waves, and there is no scatter for laser...

So either way...you need to get both systems !! Damm. I thought Iwould be able to get away with one system. So an Escort II REdline is almost 2K, plus the $1200 for a ALP system .... Looks like I will keep my foot off the gas and be more careful for a longer bit.

What are you talking about? Redline retail is $550. But most likely won't work properly because of this windshield glass Jag has. So you need a split system.
Alp is more expensive. What I have is a system with 5 heads (3 upfront 2 back) and a HiFi module (optional. Could be omitted - then you won't have voice alerts, only beeps. Or replaced with bluetooth module - then you will see everything via phone app) for $1,600. Luckily ALP can work with the range of radar antennas, or even dual or triple antennas (average $400-600 per antenna), so this will cover the radar detection portion. So for around 2K you will have a complete system. I paid around $400 for the install so there you have it.
Also I put 2 heads at the back. Depending on where you drive you might opt out of extra heads. Each head will save you $250 plus install.
There are more or less expensive systems on the market (check this one for example:

) but IMHO ALP is one of the best ones in price/quality ratio

Why don't I see more XF 3.0 V6 guys doing some mods? I bet just the VAP Tune alone would make every owner much more happier just because the XF is so heavy and it would drive much better IMHO. Its quick, safe, proven to be a must have mod for all 3.0 V6 owners.
I gave up o the radar since my V1 was useless in this car and a remote radar is no good for me since I buy a new car way too often to move it in and out. With no radar I also am more cautious lol

Any advice is appreciated.

>Just need the car to sound a bit nice.
Unfortunately, from what I've read, I'm not sure that this engine will ever sound "nice". Being both supercharged and a 90 degree V6 with a crazy (i.e., "split-pin") crankshaft I'm not sure it can really be made to sound nice.
I might start by removing the resonator and seeing what you think. That way, if you don't like it, you can put it back on and won't have spent a lot of money.
However, after doing that, if you think you like the way the sound has
"opened up" you can start thinking about custom exhaust with freer flowing mufflers and cats.
But don't spend a lot of loot until you think you'll be happy with the changes.

You dreamed of a big star -
He played a mean guitar -
He loved to drive his Jaguar...
So welcome to the machine

A Sport Cat could be worthwhile, but as of right now we don't have any XF stuff in the works.
