Default XF sv8 4.2L sudden tyres loss of pressure

I had a problem which makes no sense at all! A few months ago, four of us in my car ( 2008 XF sv8 4.2 ) were headed off for a 250 km trip in lovely weather. About 1 km away from home, I decided to change gear setting to high performance. As soon as I did that, I heard a rumbling noise and vibration on the freeway, so slowed down and pulled to side of road. I found both right hand tyres almost flat, so limped slowly to a garage and pumped up the tyres! I found no obvious sign of a puncture or loss of air from the tyre valves. The mechanic then was asked to look for the reason for loss of air. He found no problem, neither could he work out why the sudden loss of tyre pressures! He had noticed me pumping up both the tyres. So I gingerly got moving, but out of high performance suspension setting, and have not used it since then. We made that trip and more and never lost pressure since. So just got it to service at my agent's having done hundreds of kilometres! He could find no reason for the problem, but had to change the right front tyre because of sidewall damage.
Would love to know if anyone has had such a problem, or an explanation of what could have caused this inexplicable problem!

That's a strange one!
All I can think of is you did in fact run over something and puncture both right side tyres, but the holes and/or nails/screws etc were too small to see and if it was nails or screws they plugged the holes 95% (been there done that!).
And shifting into Dynamic and/or Sport mode was a pure coincidence as there is no way known doing that could cause tyre deflation.
PS - you're in the wrong sub-forum, this one is the X260 forum (2015 onwards new shape XF), you should be in the X250 sub-forum.

You are right. Realised it after posting in the wrong forum./

The tyres were inspected but no nails or screws noted. You are probably right that the incident was a pure coincidence! Going to test it out the next time it is out as service and tyre replacement just completed.
