Default 2 weeks in - 2010 XFR

So, loving the XFR I picked up for what I consider a great deal at MB dealer when it have been traded in. They put new tires and windshield on it for me and all seemed great on the test drive. There was a slight vibration on the front end, took it in to get the balancing checked and discovered a total of 3 bends in the F/D wheel, he fixed these and also rebalanced it as it was 4oz out, cost me $150 but still have slight vibration when cruising, I will drop it off to get the other wheels checked out for balance/bends.

Probably pit around 500kms on it and was out dropping my kid off last night and it threw a code, will get that checked out tonight with my buddies reader.

Only other issue I have with it a present is the worn stop/start button, I did a search but could not find anything but I would love to replace the button with a Cat badge, similar to the one in the center of the steering wheel? Anyone seen anything like this?

Everything else is awesome, I polished out a couple of minor scratches on the body work, rims could likely be re-finished at some stage and I could do with a footrest cover as the carpet is getting a little worn down there.

Just hoping the code is nothing serious...

Apart from that life is good!

You mean you were unable to find a replacement 'start/stop' button? Just ask your Jaguar dealer for one.

On the vibration its most likely bent wheels. If one was bent, chances are others are too. The OEM wheels are very soft on these. What do you have - the Selenas? (5 triple spokes with a shiny one in the middle)? They bend very easily

Before fixing more you might want to consider new rims (aftermarket) instead. You could drop $600-800 trying to straighten and refinish the existing wheels - perhaps more. and they might still wobble. About $1200-1700 for a great set of aftermarket runs. Not sure of your budgets but just a thought

Good luck with it! If you start getting random errors and codes replace battery if it's not relatively new. You might still have the original and the car doesn't like it when they fade

Sorry should have been more specific, I was hoping to replace the stock stop/start button with something more befitting to a beast this magnitude, rather than a black and white plastic button cover

I think the start/stop button isn't available separately - it's part of the whole transmission console assembly ;-)

Thanks stmcknig, shame would have been nice to add some 'drama' to the start button!

And Britcars I believe the are the 20" Nevis rims, or are that the same thing?

Yes - you're right. Nevis came on the XFR and Selena on the SC. Several folks on here have dented and bent Nevis really easily too, so the same applies there unfortunately

Re the start button, someone on here is fabricating a 'topper' for the round gear selector. Maybe ping them and see if they can make a smaller one for the start stop button and just stick it on top? You might be able to make the center of it translucent so you see the red 'heartbeat' on start up

So the code the car threw was P0236, seems to be a bit of a common issue, I will follow the other recent related threads with a hope of resolving it
