2010 XF 4.2 will not start
Don’t know what is causing no response from the start button but nothing is happening. The screen flashes the leaped and Jaguar logo repeatedly and on gauge cluster displays “ Parking Brake Cannot Be Applied. Battery has good charge, trunk release , lights inside and headlights, driver seat and tilt column functioning. shifter knob not rising, Windows, sunroof, mirrors, and passenger seat not functioning.
need suggestions on where to start troubleshooting, can the shifter unit cause all these non functioning item?

It could be various things but feels like an electrical/power problem but could also be something up with either the CJB/FSJB or RJB/RSJB.
I'd start with the typical, disconnect the (good) battery for a few minutes, reconnect and see if anything changes. If that doesn't make any difference then see if there are any DTC codes that might give you a clue where the fault is, there's so many places it could go wrong it's hard to know where to start without a bit more detail.

It could be the shifter switch. If it did not properly set into the park position when it was last turned off, then it may not allow start.
Try this: step on the brake repeatedly while sitting in the cabin in silence, with the windows up and with all other sounds/noises/distractions turned off - this to ensure you can hear it. Do you hear the shifter park/lock solenoid clicking in the center console every time you step on the brake? If so, then I’m not sure what the problem is; but if you don’t hear it clicking in and out, then your problem could be with that shifter.

So it turns out the smartkey dock is bad. I felt that the way the smartkey fob seated in the dock was odd. I found a 2011 XF at the pick your part and decided to get the dock. Replaced the one in my XF and the car started. Now the screen keeps flashing the Jaguar leaper & Jaguar on and off repeatedly. I read VM on YouTube the Bluetooth module has caused this in some cars. I replaced it but no change. I did notice corrosion on the pins of the module I replaced but can’t tell if the connector also has it. Tomorrow I will buy some electrical cleaner to spray on the connectors. Hopefully this will resolve the flashing screen which will not allow any screen functions, radio or a/c to function.
Not sure if this helps, but I had the same "logo flashing on and off screen" after I inserted a flash drive into USB slot in centre console.
Any of the modules that play thru the radio could be the problem, i had the sirius module be the problem in my wife's XF, and the bluetooth on mine.I would test with a Fibre loop. once you isolate the issue you can replace or just leave the loop if it is the sirius module, and don't need it. I also had corrosion on the connector on my wifes car and had to replace it as it had a pin broke stuck in the connector.
