Default 2010 XFS Rad Fan Removal

Good afternoon all.

I'd like to introduce myself firstly as I'm a new member. My names Dan and I'm in the South Yorkshire area of England, Great Britain. I have recently purchased a 2010 Jaguar XF S premium luxury 3.0 V6 271BHP Diesel. Bought this beauty after owning a 3.0 v6 x type about 8 years ago which was my first Jag. I love them! I'm relatively handy and have a good go at most jobs myself. I'm an electrical engineer by trade. Anyway, that's enough about me, onto my Jag.

I bought my new (to me) Jag with a few issues. I can go into detail of how I've fixed these if you wish, just ask. Coolant level low on permanently, water in fuel, car dies after have a day stood, Heavy traffic the coolant boils and steams out, headlights don't turn off after flashing, 2 x cracked alloys.

The last on my list which I'm attempting tonight is the coolant boiling in traffic. After pain stakingly removing all the undertray system, I found I had a faulty fan. i have purchased a replacement which I'm due to fit tonight.

I'm here to ask if anyone has any experience of replacing the fan. What tips you may have or a thread or even YouTube video somewhen on this. I can't seem to find a great deal. I could go into this blind but I'd rather have some knowledge of this before starting the task.

Any tips, helpful info, advise on what's involved would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again and nice to (virtually) meet you all.

Dan

Hi Dan!

I have no advice for your fan R&R but I'm also new here, just replying to your greeting.

So,

After a few hours spent last night, removing and documenting my fan removal, I came to realise that my spare fan was indeed ...... incorrect!!

I stripped my fan, took loads of photos and put it back in my car
.

Currently waiting on a decision on an offer I've made on one on ebay, as well as a price from the main dealer for a new one.

I'll keep you all updated.

HI Bud,

Sorry for the late reply.

Yes I did finish it. After a lot of mucking about it was actually a nice simple job. Happy to share my exp if you still need it?

Best regards,

Dan
