Default 2013 XF Alarm Not Chirping

The alarm chirp on my 2013 XF does not sound when locking/unlocking the doors, or when the alarm is triggered. The alarm apparently works as evident by the flashing lights...but no sound. I am interested in any recommendations to chase this problem down. Battery, wiring, fuses, siren?

Thanks in advance!
SB

It's the secondary alarm sounder. Probably you'll have to swap that out. It's a cheap $30 part.

Welp, I just checked with the dealer for parts, and it turns out that a secondary sounder is not available in US model cars (a small detail that I failed to mention). I was instructed that the alarm sounds off of the cars horn and not a separate sounder. I guess I should check the fuse boxes first and pray it's not a wiring issue.

My 13 does not chirp unless you hit the lock button twice in a quick double tap.

If I only hit it once, only the lights flash.

Try hitting the rubber outter door lock buttons twice quickly or the key fob lock button twice quickly.

Ah that's a shame. As you said, hopefully the wiring isn't the issue. I'm assuming the horn is working so perhaps the component controlling the secondary alarm in the horn is defective?

good luck.
