Default AC Compressor

I just had my compressor replaced with a new one, as the old one would not hold pressure. The problem I am faced with now is that I cannot get the new compressor and clutch to engage. Does anyone know if I must have a scanner hooked up to get this AC Compressor to work?

Firstly welcome to the Forum.

When time permits Please do an Intro the New members Area.

You are going to need to help us a SMALL ampunt.

What Jag are we playing wiuth,Year. Model, Engine, Market you live in, etc etc.

A/c requires a specific gas charge to activate the safety switch, and then the compressor circuit will allow engagement. Not enough gas, switch will not allow the compressor to spin for self destruct reasons.

The list then gets murky depending on the car involved.

I assume it's an XF so I've moved the post here.
Have you charged the system? What are the pressures?
