Default Adaptive Dydnamics Fault Error after battery disconnect and BCM reconfigured

Hi All,

Firstly, a big thanks to all the contributors on this forum! I've found some incredibly useful information here.

Long story short, the battery on my Jaguar XFS 3.0D 2013 died last weekend during icy, sub-zero weather (still enough to turn ignition on but just clicked when attempted to hold start button). It took the RAC 19 hours to send three vans and eventually a flatbed to recover the car to my house—it was 6 pm on a Sunday by the time they arrived, so had to have it dropped outside out my house. While I was sitting in the car on their first visiti, they fully disconnected the battery and installed a new one, which resulted in the dreaded "remote key error.". I rang and said it needs towing, however, they proceeded to send two more vans to check it prior to a large flatbed.

After doing some research, I purchased the JLD 165 SSD and a Mongoose cable, came within 2 days. I installed the software, reconfigured the BCM, and recoded both keys, and everything now works perfectly, except the subject title.

However, since doing this, I’m now getting an "Adaptive Dynamics Fault" error. Everything else works fine, but the Snow and Dynamic buttons are unresponsive. Is there a further step in the module reconfiguration process that I need to perform to fix this? I’m hesitant to reconfigure anything I’m not familiar with after reading some horror stories.

Have I missed a step in the reconfiguration process following the battery replacement? Alternatively, could the process of loading the car onto the flatbed or towing it have caused an actual mechanical issue? For example, does the ride height now need recalibrating?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

Many thanks,
Greg

Hey Greg great job so far! If you can install and use your SDD your are way ahead of the game. That is NOT a small accomplishment.

With your current problems go back into SDD and put in what's going on with your car. All the symptoms so SDD can decide what to do next. That should lead to a set of recommendations on what to do. I think your very close and you should be able to finish your repairs.
Do you see the recommendation tab in SDD after you start putting in your symptoms?

Can you get and post what error codes you get out of SDD? Maybe others will see that and respond?

My first guess is they broke the suspension height sensors attaching it to the recovery vehicle, like happened in the following post.

You can probably check the height of each corner in SDD somehow.

If you're looking underneath best check for bent suspension arms too, as they're aluminium and not suitable for tying the down with.

I'll going and get a print screen of DTM's now showing.

They actually used seatbelt style rope to go through each from alloy and then slide it onto the flatbad. This was -3 and road was like an ice rink so I was surprised he manaaged to dot it.

Ok pictures of issues: The car drives like a dream, fast good on MPG, until this happens and must say Michelin Pilot Sport 4 are shocking in the wet/cold/icey weather, my other Jaguar XFS has Pace Alvanti and they are face supiorior grip wise/wheel spin on pull off.

So these are what the DTC's are showing and other screens - As stated I'm a novice at SSD so any advise and help muchly appreciated, managed to reconfigure the BCM and reprogram both keys which I was happy about, but not sure if I've missed some steps causing the Adaptive Dynamic yellow error message. Also now doesnt let me use snow or dynamic.

First lot with small amount of DTC's is engine off, second lot engine running.

Thoughts and advise all welcome so please help if you know. I'm very hands on and like to try and sort things myself al beit without access to a lift. :P Only purchased the car as my 2012 started going into restricted performance. I'd already taken apart the entire intake for leaks etc, took it to a indy who said the second turbo was going and DPF full (Despite no DPF warnings) so inc MOT cost me £700 and they told me to sell it asap. I'm going to load the error codes on for that on another thread as it's very different issue and earlier car. I want to try and keep it and fix as much as possible as the resell value might as well keep her as a project.

Oh the BCM has lost it's VIN, it'll be corruption of the emulated eeprom in it's SoC see https://www.jaginfo.org/posts/2948062/ for how to fix that otherwise you'll be back to smart key not found no matter how carefully you wait for the modules to shutdown before disconnecting the battery. ( You may find you windscreen washers have stopped working - if so it'll be the cause of that )

As the module for you active damping is powered from the BCM, it's seems likely that once the above corruption is fixed it'll power up.

Please keep us updated as to how it goes.
