Default 03' X-type No Crank No Start

So im at my friends house currently, was leaving, got in the jag turned the key and it cranked for like half a second then the security light on the trac control button started blinking and I'm getting an error message saying engine fault & Trans case fault...

I have tried researching a bit on here but seem to have mixed responses... some say its a 1400$ trans issue while others have had luck with jump starting and battery replacement.. Have had the car 2 months and only 68,000 miles on it... It has a jaguar battery in it which im assuming is as old as the car maybe? thought not sure.

I have the battery disconnected now to sit for a bit, what do you guys advise?

My battery was replaced under warranty (under 3 years old) and when it caused similar problems including warnings for low brake fluid, dsc, etc none of which were at fault. If the battery is bad it can cause a lot of incorrect error messages. Not saying it is your battery but worth trying a known good one and your car was working when you left it so could have drained a bit if it is bad.Fingers crossed it if it resolves the problem it may save you potentially a lot of money
Good luck

Yea i hope that is the case with just the battery.

All sorts lights and noises where going off and a loud clunk clunk clunk... I tried jump starting and nothing... Dosn't even seem to crank over.. But all the electronics pop on as normal?? The more and more I tried, eventually the 'clunk-ish click-ish noise went away and it sounded like a low battery trying to turn the engine over.. So i'm suspecting the battery is most likley the cause.

Tomorrow I'll drive over my Mercedes and try to jump it again (the jags spending the night in my friends garage). Previously, I had tried jumping it with her Little Saturn Ion... no dice... Last time I had a dead battery on a car and tried jumping it, I had the same issue with the running car not doing a darn thing.. Brought the Mercedes back to the cars location in the morning and got it to fire up The Mercedes is a diesel and, has a large battery with easy to access terminals..

If I get it running, Ill definitely have the battery changed right away.. Already took the day of work tomorrow to deal with this issue

Well $375 dollars later and a tow to my indie shop (Mercedes, BMW, Porsche specialists) who happened to have a guy who's had Jaguar shop training...yay my lucky day.... Turns out to be a bad ground connection to the ECU... cleaned, tightened it up and WALLA!!! Suddenly she fires up!! Not only that but, runs much smoother, I don't have flickering interior lights and my 'S' button works all the time now... ALSO the darn DSC FAULT message do sent pop up anymore!! Only took a day off work, a battery replacment and a tow to get her growling agian....

Latest issue, FUEL DOOR WONT POP OPEN!!! uhhhggfff, Maybe Time to sell.....
