Newbie here and browsing the very informative website on all things Jag. My compliments to all organisers and contributers.
On to my problem. I currently drive a 2013 XF 3.0d S premium luxury and it has an amber warning message on the dash saying "adaptive dynamics fault" After a bit of investigating it appear to be the adaptive control module is at fault as I can see water staining on the printed circuit board from an undetected leak (windscreen) which had soaked below the driver's seat.
I'm guessing these modules are expensive and due to lack of funds I was wondering if it was possible to disable the adaptive damper control module using jaguar SDD software and put the dash board warning message out till I get Christmas out of the way. The reason I ask is the adaptive control seems to be an optional extra on some models and therefore might be doable with software.
I have been using SDD v130 along with mongoose cable for diagnosis and dpf regeneration etc.
Yes it is possible, getting into engineering mode is the hard part. Look around for Current Car Configuration routine in available functions, if you are actually in edit mode it should like like the screenshot without anything grayed out.
You are on the right track. Once in Current Configuration Management with Engineering mode active, highlight the feature to be disabled, then choose from the drop-down box in the lower section to change it to 'Not installed' or Not Fitted etc
Valid concerns about interconnected systems being possibly affected. Theoretically once marked as the car not having the feature, it stops checking those modules and their connectivity status. However some are in a network type that need signal continuity so if the affected module is busted to the point of blocking that path, a fiber loop would be needed to bypass it so the neighboring modules don't throw panic lights.
As a reference point, from functional dynamic suspension on my car to start with(no lights or codes), after disabling it in CCF I am able to disconnect the shock connectors and have no dash lights about this useless system. Yes it defaults to the rock hard ride as expected so I leave the plugs in, but no lights either connected or disconnected. I left the module alone for now since they purposely bury it under the seat, so it can drown in a sudden downpour or because their crappy sunroof drains getting blocked. I will get it out when I get around to looping out bluetooth and everything else I disabled the same way.
I dug these up from the session after the change, I don't remember which did the trick but later I did the other one as a way to kill it with fire and have no suspension related lights ever coming on.
