Default Advice on buying a 2008 XF 2.7 with high mileage

Hi! I found a 2008 XF 2.7 with 230000km mileage, the car has been serviced and has passed the inspection to 2022. What warning signs should I be looking for when checking out/inspecting the car? I know the 3.0 motor is more reliable but how is the 2.7?

Tbh, the car of that age, will have some problem now or later. Common problem will be ftom easy fix to more complicated ones.
  • The coolant tank leaking or sensor not working
  • Turbo problem, where when engine cold under heavy acceleration for over 30sec hold foot down causes Restricted performance(limp mode)
  • Crack in air intake pipe causes RP
  • Fuel pump issue/indicator( shows less or more fuel on indicator)
  • Boot not closing properly
  • Burning/smoke smell in cabin when starting from cold.
  • Window actuator
that what i can remember on top of my head. But jag is a damn good ride. Tried a newer bmw this week, bit am coming back to my Jag and saying this is an awesome car..

For the age of the car, there is a lot of variable to look out for. Best bet is to get someone who really knows to check or get a warranty from the dealer.

True that, The car has had over 7 owners, the last ones not owning it for more than a year, I think i will pass instead and try to find one with a honest service history.
