Is there supposed to be a connection here? On a 2009 XF Supercharged. this is above the CJB. New to me car and I dont know where to look in the manual for this. Thank you.
Do you have a problem?
These are massively complicated cars with dozens of variations depending on country, drive train and owner options. So no way to tell unless your missing a feature in your car.

Spent the weekend going through and fixing things that the seller said he fixed (go figure), he sent it to his "mechanic" after I test drove it and pointed out the things that didnt work and it came back with more problems. There were a bunch of codes that came up after I had an independent inspection done on it. Its not giving me any warning right now, but now the parking aid does not work. I have the backup cameras, but no sensors and I know they worked before he "fixed" it up. I replaced the battery, spark plugs, snuffed out some wiring issue (fuse kept blowing and it was a short in the wire for the vanity mirror) seat fore/aft was not working, fixed that easy enough by holding the control longer than 2 seconds. The rear sunblind is also still not working, I can hear the motor click when control is pushed but no action. Seems driveable for now, but the bushings are all worn, there are a few small oil leaks on the block, and the pinion seal needs replaced as it is also leaking a bit.
Well keep up the good work as you have a number of problems but your working thru them.
With all these problems do you have a good scanner? Even if no dash lights there are a lot of codes to help fix things. Be sure and erase them everytime you scan the car. Don't want to be chasing "historic" codes from the past.
If you can post the code numbers that will allow others to give you help solving these problems.
Your car has the 4.2L V-8 SC right?

that is the engine. Do you have a scanner you recommend? Thank you.
Yes but with reservations!
After several years of owning a Jaguar and I am pretty much a DIY guy when it comes to cars. I was forced to get a working SDD setup. Now this is not very easy to do but in the end it opened up the world of Jaguar factory diagnosis.
If you don't want to go to that level of effort it's hard to say? The aftermarket stuff is getting better everyday BUT Jaguar is not a popular car so many times you can't get deep enough into the car. I have currently been playing with TOPDON scanners. But can't make any suggestions yet on which model to get. They do have quite a few models. The one I was using could do many things like turn on and off any light on the car. I could even run the electric engine cooling fan at any speed from 0%-100%! But it was $900! TOPDON Scanners
This brings me to the next question? As with many things it's about cost and performance. SDD is very cheap to setup and works the best of any device since it's the factory system. The downside is the complicated and terrible software in SDD! I mean I have used SDD for a number of years and it still is a battle to find what the heck I am looking for! It also is very slow so many times I am left wondering if the software is locked up or what IS going on? So maximum patience is a requirement when using SDD!
Aftermarket stuff will be much easier to use but again depending on what your using I have yet to find anything aftermarket that compares to what SDD can do?
There "might" be something out that is as good because there are $5K-$10K pro level systems that I won't ever be able to try out because of the very high cost.

Again we need the codes to be of much help.

I was looking at the Phoenix Pro but with the the annual $795 US to update and program online, I'm better off using SDD with weekly subscriptions when needed being just a DIY.
