Auxiliary heater replacement X250 2012
Hi everybody, this is my first post so I need to say right from the beginning, I'm an idiot...just so you know Ive managed to work out why my climate stopped working and have disconnected the Auxiliary Heater so my vents work again as does the temperature. So I bought a used Aux Heater off Ebay for £25, easy right? Noooooooo!
Ive pulled my back in 13 different places trying to slowly strip out the passenger side footwell glove box etc to get to the old heater. But I've got a feeling this isn't the way to do it, as I can see that the existing Aux heater won't pull out of the housing cos there is a ruddy great big steel bulkhead that runs from the front left of the car over to the right which stops the old heater coming out. Does anybody know please the best way to attack this? Btw, although I've had a few electrical issues with the Jag, my god what a nice car! A 3litre V6 which gives me 46mpg on the motorway?!
New Aux Heater.

To be honest when mine started spiking the canbus 3 or 4 years ago, once I'd worked out what it was I just disconnected it & left it at that. Haven't missed it at all & the car's putting out warm air within a mile.
I'm not sure how many on here may have done this job as it's the US based site & diesels weren't imported here. You might try the UK based site with plenty of diesel owners at www.jaguarforum.com but I'd just leave it unplugged with the socket/plug nicely covered.

Hi Robinus,
Thanks for the quick reply, yes Id thought exactly that, should I just leave it? Seems such a shame though that the part is only £25.00, and its a nice feature that I have noticed every winter when I nip down to the shops. I thought id have a crack at it just to find out how easy/hard it would be to replace, I reckon the Jaguar technicians must actually strip the Central console out, then the steel bulkhead etc to get to it! Can you even imagine how much they charge for the labour etc!
