Default Bubbling Leather on XF Dashboard

I recently noticed the dashboard leather was bubbling up on my 2008 XF Premium Luxury although I think all models have the same dash covering .
The dealer didnt want to know about it as the car was out of warranty even though it has only done 35000kms .
I took the car to Blackmans Interior Repair Centre in Moorabin Vic phone 03 9532 5220 and they found that the leather dash covering had shrunk and had pulled the adhesive off the dash causing the bubbling . Later model XF's had the leather stapled to the back edge of the dash near the windscreen vents which prevents the leather from pulling the adhesive away .
A You Tube video from a UK enthusiast shows the actual procedure just look up XF Jaguar dashboard lifting problem and you will go straight to it .
Blackmans removed the top of the dash which is shown in the video then pulled back the leather and re glued it down then stapled the leading edge before re installing it and it now looks like new .
The dealer cost for a new dash is A$5000 plus labour which is their only repair option . So if you have an early XF with a bubbling dash this is how to fix it . Regards DavidT

Thanks for sharing. Roughly what did the labour time and cost run to for the repair? I suspect many people here on the forum will be interested in this over time...

I actually think by any stretch of the human imagination, that JAG should cover this or offer a reasonable repair fee - it is a manufacturing defect.

Common sense talk here.

Hey, resurrecting a very old thread.

My dash board has started bubbling up and I'm wondering if there are any recent ideas about fixes.
It's not shrinking and pulling up like in the original postings, it's just bubbling up 6 inches back from the windshield. I can push the bubble down, but it just pops back up.
Anybody got any new ideas?
