Check Tyre pressure light won't go off?
Hello everybody out there who owns a Jaguar XF like mine or an xfr recently I had a valve stem replaced in one of my tires and since then all of my tires keep flashing check tire pressure I've had them checked I had all the sensors reset and every now and then it's still flashes that I need to air in all the tires has anybody else experienced this and how do I stop that from flashing thank you
I had one valve stem replaced and now the system default error comes on and off at various times. Discount tires have had the car on numerous occasions and been unable to correct it. I use the info button to clear the error off of the main display. The local dealership is a waste so just living with it for now.
Does it flash low pressure across the tires and then say system error. Or does it just say that a specific tyre is low?
There are two sources of error here. One is that the system is quite sensitive to the tpms modules. Aftermarket ones sometimes work and sometimes not. OEM ones are expensive but fine
In addition the tpms control module can fail and gives random tyre pressure errors across wheels at random then sometimes system fault. It can be fine for weeks then does it again. The fix is to replace the tpms module under the passenger seat (on LHR spec cars at least). It's a plug and play module - I bought mine for about $80 via eBay. Takes about half an hour - have to unbolt the seat and rock it out of the way, lift the carpet and it's right there. Get the right module - there are a few different ones and seemed to be a part used in other cars incl Volvo too.
Given your symptoms that's my guess. I've posted on it here a few years ago when I did it. There is a great photo tutorial on a different site that I think I linked to
You need an unusual torx E bit for the seat railing but it's just a few dollars
Lmk if you have trouble and I can post more details.
