Default Chrome Blades...

Hi all,

Kind of new to the forum. Just bought a XF 2010 Supercharged last week. Love it!

However...I despise the chrome blades in the lower front vents/grilles. Any mods to replace/remove them? Ideally, I'd like to insert a mesh grille in there without any blade at all. OR, some time of LED DRL mod that would at least make it somewhat functional.

Any suggestions are welcome. I've looked around online but have not been able to find the right solution. It seems that the Adamesh LED DRLs aren't being produced anymore, and same goes for a couple other mods.

Thanks in advance!

I replaced my 2010 blades with the Adamesh Drl blades, also available from Sturgess. Then I had my entire car chrome blacked out by my body shop. We painted everything except the badging black, even the blades. Looks Awesome!!!

I like the look, and interestingly, if you look at the cover of your owner's manual, you will notice that the blades actually have LEDs in them. It seems like Jaguar was planning this and then cheaped out at the last minute and forget (or just couldn't be bothered) to redo the artwork on the owner's manual. I found that kind of amusing.

Upon further reading, this appears to be European XF option?

I believe the DRL were mandatory in several countries in Europe at the time buy a lot of makers simply had the headlights programmed to stay on. In the usa, we didnt have any laws about them so they were never an option. The led drl strips were just becoming popular and jaguar hadn't really commuted to them yet. I believe in Europe, there was a special package that came with a blade with tiny LEDs in the blade but there were problems with individual bulbs going out. Tis set was designed by Arden and several companies and jaguar dealers carried them. Adamesh used to sell them and Sturgess jaguar does as well.

If the DRL's are a no go...

Anyone know if I can simply remove the chrome blades all together and replace with XFR grilles (Or something of the sort)?

They won't fit. Contact mina gallery and bug them to speed up on the set they are developing. They would look like the Xfr mesh with surround but fit the standard xf bumper. I want a set too but mina is busy with other projects at the moment.

DRL's are law in Canada and they just used the headlights as the lights. No lit blades here.
