It is always helpful to provide the MY and other vehicle details when requesting help from the forum.
The vehicle Owner's Manual indicates the correct coolant to use that meets Jaguar specifications. Avoid mixing different types (colours) of coolant and be sure to properly bleed the system to removed any air that may be present.
Most likely is the water pump. They go v frequently on these cars - mine went around 30k miles. Many sooner than that. Easy to check if it's leaking there - look for the white residue (or actual damp). Get it checked as when it completely fails you're stranded...
I'll check the water pump, and I don't have the manual. I bought this car second hand in 2012.
Anyone know the coolant spec, please?
You need the extended life coolant (usually colored orange and in a container with a bright orange cap), available from most or all of the name brands. Do NOT under any circumstances use the "regular" coolant you have been using for many years, no matter what brand.
I've never seen it any other color than orange or pink[B],,,Prestone Dex-cool will work and meets the specs..Be sure if you are mixing it, to use distilled water or you can get the pre-mixed (50/50)
On my 2006 S-type 4.2 with mileage in the teens, I get a low coolant message often at start up. The reading is false and goes away after a block or two of driving. I assume something is getting stuck causing the warning.
I have posted this in case you are correcting a problem that does not exist.

If you look at the coolant level you may find that it is actually low when you start. As the engine warms up it expands and might then read as sufficiently full. Worth checking when the engine is cool and topping up towards the top of the min-max range to see if that fixes it

Thank you. I think it is more related to the angle at which I park.
