Default Cup holder insert ...

I was tired of having the bottom of the cup holder get all scratched up as that's where I deposit my keys and change. I also put my iPhone 5 there and was worried that metal to metal contact would scratch the black aluminum finish on the iPhone. So I had 36 - 3" round discs of 1/16" non-slip rubber with a light adhesive on the back made for me (smallest batch possible). They look good got the job done. Now I'm not worried about my phone or scratching up the bottom (like what happened with my XF after 2 years). Andrew

Interesting. Mine has like a brushed aluminum finish on the bottom and it scratches easily and is probably capable of scratching the bottom of my new iPhone 5. Is the rubber removable?

Same here, and all I've ever put there is plastic water bottles. If we could find a source for thin black rubber or vinyl, it should be easy enough to use the bottom of a wine glass to trace around and cut it to the right size. Now, where to find the material?...

We need a photo. And as ajmarton asked, is it removable? If so, the rest of us should be able to just buy that part from a Jaguar dealer. I suspect it pops out like the little rubber inserts that go in the rear door pulls.

MY BAD!! The cupholders have the brushed aluminium thingy in them.

I did find 3" rubber adhesive discs online, but there was a $20 minimum.

I'm more than happy to sell the remainder of my batch. A strip of 3 (like in pic) for $3.00 shipped. Just PM me for PayPal info. Andrew

I just got my set of 3 discs -- thanks AJ.

The material is really nice, and just thick enough. This stuff could have some other uses, such as protecting the horizontal wood surfaces on the console, or the wood on the door temporarily when I have the car serviced. With the light adhesive, you could cover up the wood and then remove it after servicing.

No problem. Glad you like it! It's been in my car now for 3 weeks and looks as good as new. And I love the fact that my iPhone is safe - no metal to metal contact.

AJ. Do you have any more of those discs left over? They fit a 2007XK? Dan
