Default Dash issues

Can anyone tell me where the dash tends to fail? Odds are I'm going to end up buying a car somewhat blind (not being there) and I don't want to deal with one of these issues...

That is where mine failed. A triangular section (about 3" on each side) with one side next to the center grill and another side close to the window failed. It bubbled up and revealed the padding underneath where it met the grill. Warranty was going to cover it, but it needed a complete replacement of the leather part of the dashboard (so I was told).

This also happened to mine. passenger side shrunk leather exposing pad. Under warranty dealer replaced whole leather on dash.

Just noticed this in mine today, going to call the dealership tomorrow. I'm kind of excited to get a whole new dash since I bought my car used. I can tell the previous owner wasn't as meticulous as me, though they never are. I will be taking good care of the leather from here on out.

Dealer is going to replace. They said its $3000 for just the dash, without labor. I didn't notice mine until I sat in the passenger seat, make sure to check yours before your warranty is up.

Did the new dash look new? I'm hoping it will bring a new fresh leather smell to the car. Also hoping it will be nice and soft.

Same thing happened to my 2009 Jag XFSV8.

After a long discussion with Jaguar, I refused to move/pickup the car from their garage until they fixed it. In the end, it was covered under warranty but I had to pay "the labor."

Still better then the original quote of more than 5000USD

call Jaguar USA and complain and you probably get a free oil change at the deal you shouldn't pay labor

Just bought an XF Premium Portfolio last week. The leather is pulling away from the windshield just right of the center speaker causing a pucker. Dealer is going to replace under warranty. Also found hair line cracks in wood on console. Dealer says he may have to replace entire set of wood trim because they are matched sets. In any event it will be replaced one way or another under warranty.

My apologies, my XF is a 2010 in Ultimate black with ivory/oyster interior.

The Jaguar warranty states that it does not cover leather or wood trim. How did you guys get the dealer to cover the replacement?

I had my dash fixed on my 2011. The issue is a factory install problem or product defect. Nothing an owner has any control over or caused.
Hopefully the new one was installed correctly or a better product was used that will not be adversely affected by the heat/sun.
Lots of cars in Texas do not have dash issues, so if Jag dashes fail, Jag should fix.

the darker the color the more the failure, dont want it to fail, dont park or drive in the daylight hours Dracula. The dashes are cover under factory warranty. Its seat wear that usually entails the "warranty handbook statement" not the dash. Ive seen a couple 2012's pull. But nothing like earlier. Alledged to have more material, glue and staples now.
