Default exhaust

has anyone thought about putting the f type r muffler on an xf is it even compatible?

Even if it was possible it could not be done without massive and very expensive modifications to the XFR, as it's a central muffler and the XFR mufflers are one each side.

Your closest bet are the XFR-S mufflers as those models sound almost the same as F-Type R's. But you can't buy them from the dealer unless if your have a XFR-S VIN #. Also, it's not been proven that the mufflers are very different from the XFR/Suprcharged as they may just be the same design but with the valves blocked off. With respect to that, some argue that the sound is actually due to the x-pipe design in place of (one of) the central resonators. I think it's a combination of those and tuning that give it it's distinctive sound.
