I am confused about the OEM tire size for my 2015 XF Supercharged. I've been noticing some rubbing with the front tires during sharp turns and my mechanic claims this is because the front tires are oversized.
My mechanic, as well as all the tire shops, think the fronts should be 255/35R20 and rears should be 285/30R20. The placard on the door jam, however, gives 265/35R20 for the fronts and 295/30R20 for the rears. The owners manual gives this size for the XFR-S, but doesn't say it's used on the XF Supercharged.
Where are you tires rubbing? Can you show?
My 2015 XF had the same tire sizes as my 2015 XFR-S does. I had Varuna wheels on my XF and i have XO Luxury Phoenix 20x9.5 and 20x11 on my XFR-S and no rubbing.
The 255 for front and 285 for rears are for non supercharged versions.
I replied to this post but somehow, my post got deleted. Why? I posted proper answer to this guys question about the tire sizes!
Hey guy, just stick to the stickers on your cars body and use what's there. Do not listen to mechanics and if you get tire rub, find it and see if you don't have worn out suspension parts.
I run the stock tire sizes. Your alignment is causing the tire wear. Has it been checked?
Don't listen to an "expert" mechanic. Jaguar designed and built the car.

I replaced the tires with the size on the door placard. The tire shop tried to feed me some line about the placard potentially being aftermarket, but I find that really hard to believe. After replacing the tires, I took it to an independent alignment shop and they found some significant issues with the front left alignment. After getting that fixed, I am experiencing no rubbing with 265 width front tires, so seems like it was an alignment issue.
