Can anyone foresee any problems in running a shot of injector cleaner through with a tank of gas on an '09 XF SC?

It works fine, I run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner once in a while on my 2009 XF Supercharged.

 

So, let me understand... If it won't hurt to run something through the tank, then it must be useful?
I am not meaning to bust anyone's chops since by the way the auto parts guys push this snake oil, you could easily get the idea it does something. Hell, I even put a bottle of Techron through my XJR once in a while NOT because it does anything good for the car, but it does make me feel better!

 

Isn't that the most important thing?

 

A friend's grandfather had an appropriate expression- you can add as much mayonnaise as you want to axle grease. It won't hurt the taste of the axle grease at all.

It won't hurt anything but won't do any good either. Why bother?

 

Does the fuel system service the dealership tried to sell me for $400 do anything? Ford tried the same thing on our edge last year.

That service is not in either cars service schedule.

 

Jaguar does not endorse any such additive or service. They caution against additives in many owners manuals.
