Default Gas Pedal locks Wide Open when Passing

Hello Jag Lovers, one year ago I purchased a 2009 XF Supercharged with 24K miles, today she has 38k and we absolutely love the car, my 6th Jag. Just put a new set of Goodyear Exhilarate tires on my baby and we like them more than the Continental DW06 or the Hankook Ventus Summer tires. On that note, when I accelerated aggressively on the highway testing them the car got stuck wide open and it could have been scary as hell if not for flipping the tranny back and forth from neutral to drive a couple times. Anyone else ever had that happen? My guess is the throttle body needs replacing. Any other reason you could wind up in such a frightening situation, these cars go 150 stock. I got rid on my 2017 XF supercharged to get this gem, I personally think the last year of the Jag 4.2 V8 is their best V8 ever. Thoughts on the locked acceleration?

Can we assume that you examined the accelerator pedal and the area around it for any obstruction (carpet mat etc)?

I do understand the panic caused by such an event…it happened to me years ago on my MGB, once and once only. But that was in another century and in a car of relatively prehistoric design. Strangely, it either fixed itself or was cause by a combination of things that never occurred again. My instant solution was to shut the engine off. On restarting all was normal.
