Default Had a worrying trip home from work today.

Got on the highway, 15 miles from home and the info screen popped up "battery not charging" on my 1900 mile old 2013.

So I babied it home and started troubleshooting the battery/alternator since the nearest dealer is 90 miles away.

Voltage at battery with car running was 14.5vdc, both batteries, car off, main batt at 12.9vdc, small batt at 14vdc.

Found the negative cable clamp not seated all the way on the post and a bit loose.

Reseated and tighten back down.

No more warning message.

Hope I have fixed it.

Amazing what hassles a little knowledge can save. A friend's car was just in the shop and it was overheating. He told them it was probably the thermostat. No codes showed so they screwed around for days looking for the problem

They finally determined it was the thermostat. So glad I took auto shop in high school. Wish some of the techs at dealerships had...

I think you nipped it in the bud.
