Headlight/driving lights question
Hello! I’m new here, and apologize for making my first post a question. Unfortunately, I don’t have any Jaguar words of wisdom to offer.
Ever since having the whole headlight module replaced (due to a minor fender bender!), my low beams are aimed so low as to be almost useless at anything over 15 mph. My dealer tells me they can’t be adjusted. If that is true, has anyone mounted external driving lights? If done right, they could look either essentially unnoticeable or nicely vintage. However, I haven’t seen any external driving light installations. Does anybody know of this mod (anything for an XJ would most likely work on an XF)?

They all have to be correclty manually adjusted then the hid lights with auto leveling have to have the modules programmed and calibrated whenever replaced. Obviously pointing at the ground is not normal. Someone will come along shortly im sure and post pics of the places you adjust since i cannot at work.
or you can google

Change dealer, he/she has no idea what they are talking about.
The XF headlights are easily adjustable using a long shank 6 mm allen/hex key or at a pinch a suitable sized flat blade screwdriver.
Two adjustment sockets for each light, on the back of the light cluster, one for up/down and one for left/right. They are white on the older XFs and I think they changed to green around 2012.
I forget which is which now but I'm fairly sure you turn the up/down adjuster clockwise to raise the light.
And yes, many XFs left the factory with lights pointing way too low.

Thanks, OzXFR. Just the information I needed! Unfortunately, the next dealer over is about three towns away. It might come to that, though. My current dealer also told me that the brake pedal engagement height is not adjustable. I’m not sure I believe that, either.
