Headlight performance
These guys seem unimpressed with the headlights on the XF they are taking to Alaska. I think the lights a misaligned, what do y'all reckon?

How much experience do these guys have driving deserted northern highways at night?
Summer tires are unsuitable for use below 7C (42F). They needed to be on winter tires.
Hazard from wildlife results from movement. You hardly ever see the animal in time even in daylight. Speed reduction is the only safe way to reduce risk of animal strikes at night.
I find their 1 Mississippi hard to accept, that's only 100 ft at 70 mph. I do not believe their "facts". As for 1966 Mustang sealed beams, how old are these guys? Maybe hey should try to drive at night. If they really have driven in those conditions behind those old sealed beams, as I have, they are just lying.
Having said that the Europeans don't think much of the standard halogen lights, which I find work just fine for me. Also many have tried to improve the HID optional lights. I don't understand what they are all on about.
Finally, anyone concerned about random patches of gravel ought not to try and drive an all weather northern highway. This is just not a " hazard" but a normal condition.

I'm not exactly a fan of the bi-level hi-beams on the 2012. The most intense area of the hi-beams seems to be pointed quite a bit up into the trees rather than further down the road. The dealer checked the alignment for me and said the lo-beams were adjusted correctly. Unfortunately, the hi-beam position is dictated by the lo-beam position and is not independently adjustable. As a matter of fact, I can run two-lane roads with the hi-beams on and virtually all oncoming vehicles have no problem with them.
