Just had AM portion of radio replaced by dealer, under warranty, had NO AM reception, now I get some, but it is HORRIBLE.... My Kia Sportage has 100 times better AM reception.... Is there something else could be wrong?

 

No updates on this in the forum - however I have a 2011 XF that I purchased this past summer from a dealer. The radio reception is horrible, especially compared to the others cars I have ('05 pickup and '05 town and country). The AM has always been poor, and living in the NY area, AM is a way of life. However starting this week, the AM all but dead.
For example, for those in NY city area will appreciate, there are two main stations for news/traffic, 880 and 1010, well 880 doesnt even come in when I am in Manhattan and 1010 is weak - and 660 the sports station is nothing but static. FM is fine, not great but works -and I dont use the Sirius (doesnt have baseball).
I know most of the world doesnt use AM anymore, so might not be a big problem to Jaguar overall, but some of us still use it. Anyone else had this, and had it fixed? how? what? I am hesitant to go to the service center and say 'my AM doesnt work' because they might laugh me out of there...

Finally was able to take the car to the shop - problem is AM/FM modulator (think that is what they said) anyway, fixed under warranty - no issues afterwards. AM and FM work great now...

 

I had AM radio reception issues that were getting progressively worse. Dealer didn't find anything broken but checked and tighten all connections throughout the car and the problem disappeared.
