Question Humming sound when stopped

Howdy folks. I picked up a 2010 XFR earlier this year with about 57,000 on the clock and have absolutely been loving the vehicle. Recently though, I've noticed that when at a complete stop and idling, I'm noticing a humming sound coming from the engine bay that seems louder than it should be. Sounds like something spinning or possible a belt. Anyway, as soon as I take my foot off the break or start moving, the sound disappears. Car's last service was at a dealer about a year ago. Known issue or indicative of a problem?

Thanks for the input, and happy New Year's Eve!

Interesting sound. Maybe look at spinning pieces and see if something may be rubbing?

Does it only do it in drive or will it do it in park too?

Yeah, was thinking it might be something like that. Having looked into it further it happens any time the engine goes below around 700rpm (basically idle) no matter if it's in park or drive. Serpentine belt was replaced around 10k miles ago though.

The TB stepper motor servos can whine. On these cars (like others) you CAN lift the hood to get a better idea where int the "engine bay" your noise might be coming from!

Now that's just crazy talk! Yeah, I plan on doing so soon, just haven't had time lately to futz around with it.
