I've read the manual cover to cover and on some of the pictures it shows an instant MPG meter, but there's no mention of it in the text. I can't seem to find it going through the menus, the closest thing I found was switching to the auto trip (which resets after every trip). But that MPG meter still averages over the trip rather than give you an instant number. Am I missing something here or did they take that feature out?

Only average mpg (liters/100km) display as far as I can tell. Never was an instant display on North American XFs.

 

That's unfortunate, because the older xks have it...I suppose they figured since it's a wild-***-guess anyhow, why keep it on the car? I personally use it as an indicator of my best speed/RPM to get the best fuel efficiency.
