Default Jaguar XF 09 boot/trunk water in fuse box HELP

Hello, there is a leak coming from the trunk and causing electrical issues like head lights turning off and on while car is turned off. Flickering interior lights. Notice water in trunk fuse box wich might be causing these issues. Replaced the battery with a new one and same issue. As soon as you plug the battery headlights, screen and interior light come on with out turning the car on. What will be best to clean or dry the fuse box. I will try to attach some pics.

There are 2 vents behind the bumper (one either side). The seals around these vents can become displaced & allow water into boot. You can get new seals of refit the old ones with sealer.
Your last picture shows part of the vent next to the fusebox.

Thank you! Will it be wise to just replace the fuse box now that water went inside. Or will it be okay to just take it off and clean it and dry it. I'm sure this was the issue with the car with interior lights flicking and headlights and electronics inside just turning on and off while car was off. Also car will not start at all.

In addition to the black plastic vents, check the rubber seal for the lid.

Have you got a vented battery fitted? I can understand the rust from water getting into the boot but there looks to be acidic corrosion there too.

These are the new vents...........Part number: C2D18113 £8.30 each plus VAT. This is the whole vent including the seal. They come with a nice VOLVO logo on them!

Remove all the multiplugs & make sure the pins are not corroded in the mutiplug & the fusebox. Hopefully you will be able to dry out the fusebox with a heatgun/hairdrier!

There could also be the possibility that the drains from the sunroof are blocked. I haven't looked at my XF but I on my S-Type (basically the same car) "rubber" hoses came down from the rear corners of the sunroof, into the trunk by the trunk lid hinges, and then out the side to empty into the wheel well. I had leaks on the driver's side, but if the same hose existed on the passenger side, it would drain the sunroof right where the fuse box and battery is.
But XFs could be different...

Thank you for all the replies I will try to dry out the fuse box. I actually purchased a new battery installed it last night but same issue with the head lights and interior lights/ screen just turning on by them selves as soon as I connected the battery. But notice water in the fuse box.

Forgot to mention what is that connection I'm holding by the battery on picture? It seems like the connector got ripped leaving only the cable wires.

It's not used after the car is delivered. I think it bypasses some of the circuits so the battery does not go flat between the factory & delivery.
