Im going overseas for next 6 months , My XF will be parked up till i return. Ive disconnected the main battery and the smaller Start stop battery as well. Am i good to go on reconnecting the batterys on my return and what battery should i connect first.. Marry cristmas all

I'd get a Battery Tender instead. Disconnecting the battery can be a cause for major grief on these cars.

Local dealership installed a Battery Tender for PO on mine. I run a cheap replaceable cable from in trunk connector to Battery Tender on the wall. Easy to replace the cable if repeated closing the trunk on the cable causes damage. I've gone 2 months between starts with no problem.
