Default Jaguar XF display screen flickering / flashing

Hi, I'm a new user on this forum!

I have a Jaguar xf 2009 v8 supercharged and since a couples of days I had a problem with my display screen. At first, every time I'll plug my iphone 4 in the screen will turn on and off (like if it were rebooting)

then it will no turn on the display screen will only flicker and flash the jaguar logo for about 2 second ... then back again.

I check on the internet and it seem it might be related to the audio portable module.. so I took all the driver side apart to find it. (located under the driver seat). and it was in a really bad shape (rust and damp) I took it off but the display screen still do the same even thought the audio module is unplug ???

I mean is this really the problem or I'll a complete reprogramation ??

HELP PLEASE I LEAVE IN NORTH CANADA (QUÉBEC) AND I'M 8H HOURS AWAYS FROM A JAG DEALER. I'M THE ONLY ONE IN MY TOWN TO OWN A JAG SO NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO REPAIR IT.

Did you just buy this Jaguar? Was it flood damaged? If the modules are wet/rusting, that is never a good thing. It might be beyond a simple repair.

No it wasn't flood damaged I bought it brand new in 2009. but I live in north canada and the winter are rough (under 50 degrees) and with all the snow my boots bring into the car it's possible it had soak the mat floor.

i found out my bluetooth module has a fuse burnt, so it might be why I have a problem and that my display screen had fault.

I bought a new one, we'll see if it fix my problem.

Great troubleshooting and thanks for reporting back.

We hear of a lot of weird problems but not too many solutions!

I have had the very same problem with my XF 2009 Supercharged, so am very interested to see your post. The dealer failed to detect the problem on my first visit to get repaired.

I have had no experience working on this car at all. Is the repair that you recommend something that could be undertaken by a complete amateur? If so, is it possible to give a bit more detail on the replacement part required, and exactly where it needs to get changed?

Many thanks.

It's not complicated at all, I think the hardest part is to unbolt the driver seat and push it enough far to have room to work under it. p.s. you have to remove the mat floor completly.

- you have two modules under this seat, a metal box and a black plastic box ! to find the probleme you problably have to open the black platic module with a screw driver, just to unclench it. nothing to complicated and all you need is basic tools !

you can see the picture I posted in the previous post.

if you have other questions I'll be happy ton answer them !

p.s. check on ebay for the module, cause your jag dealer price is way to high .

Default and again

Two years later and here we go again the same got damn problem -__-

I know where to look for the problem but it's just anoying !

I'm starting to think that this problem is link to the fact that I plug my iPhone 6 in to listen to music or that I have short somewhere.

I decided to take the whole Inside of the car appart and check every things out !

Hey guys, I have a 2010 XF that i just changed the engine. Don't even ask why. But all the same, after everything is back in place and running, my audio keeps flickering and wont turn on. we checked the code and it came up with "audio miscommunication". Any help?

Hi Guys,
I bought 2010 XFR supercharged it has several issues first and for most Im too worried, that the "Navigation / DVD screen is blinking" like ON and OFF 20 times in a minute no radio, CD, AUX, or any type of sound.

I think i should go as "jaguarxfv8" fixed it, that seems like good point to start with.
I will try to attach video of that if I can!!
Does anyone have an idea?

Thanks.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago after changing the motor in my 2010 XF. Don't even ask.. Initially I thought the guys didn't reconnect the audio cable. So they took the whole front apart only to realize everything was connected. And no amount of reset could fix it. Eventually I took it to the dealer who run a couple of test and concluded that there were breaks in the connectors. Lo and behold after replacing them, everything started working. Price "only" $600. Good time..

Kind of thin with the "breaks in the connectors"??

Can you tell us exactly what they did and what they replaced? I don't think anybody can fix a problem following that description.

Maybe post the receipt to show parts numbers and hours of labor?

So I called the dealer to buy the bluetooth module directly from them … 600$ -_- and I ask him why is it that the system alway burnt and the answer they gave me is : there is alway water leaking under there so you have to put 5 washer as spacer before you bolt it into place…. I was like wow what a miracle solution… -_- and I decided to do it my way …

so here's how I proceeded.

All you need, styrofoam, a lunch pot and something to cut the two

cut it the best you can

and place it where it belong plug it and it work

Default 2009 xf supercharged bluetooth module part number

Hello, I am new here so bear with me please.

I just purchased a 2009 xf supercharged with 65,000 miles. The touch screen is flickering and I removed the bluetooth module.Alot of water.

I am trying to buy a used one to save money, but see that there are alot of vehicles that have a similar part number. For instance, volvo is#7G9N-10D893-BB.LANDROVER#7G9N-10D893-AB OR AA, AND JAGUAR#7G9N-10D893-AF OR AG. Only the last 2 letters are different and all seem to have the same plug ins.

Mine is the AF, but are any of these modules compatible with mine?

Lastly, do I need to pay someone to reprogram this module once installed?

Thanks,thanks thanks

The last two letter doesn't matter.
If you buy it new from the dealer it's around 700$
check on ebay you can find one for way less.
and no need to reset anything just unplug the car battery while replacing the module and replug it when you are done and it will work.

Thats amazing. The people selling the ones for Jaguar are $200 used, and for Volvo and
Land Rover for $75. So I can buy the cheaper ones, with the same code minus the last 2 letters, and be fine?
