We'll have updated stats soon. For the 2009 and 2010, we'll have over 25 responses, but not well over. For the 2011 and 2012, we'll have fewer than 25 responses--but close with the latter. For the 2013 and up, not enough owners have joined to include them in the survey.

I'd like to fully cover all model years. To help make this happen, if you haven't already joined:

So, how have these cars been doing lately?

Our reliability stats for the XF now include owner experiences through March 31, 2015. (Others are nearly a year behind.)

In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year ("low" is best):

2012 XF: 38, moderate, small sample size
2011 XF: 63, moderate, small sample size
2010 XF: 69, moderate
2009 XF: 60, moderate

No stat for a model year? Then we very much need more participants for it. Same for those with small sample size notes. Next updates in August and November.

i had one of the first xf's sold to the public in the uk .IT WAS NOTHING BUT TROUBLE. the dash lit up like a christmas tree at least once a week the handbrake came on when travelling along the road regularly to the extent that i refused to drive it anymore, in 3.5 years it had 3 sets of discs all round and 6 sets of pads all round and in the same 3.5 years it spent a total of 13 months in the dealers. the fault was eventually found in the loom but only after lots of arguing with the dealers and jag assist having to step in after the engineer was following me to the dealers when the handbrake came on at 60mph and spun me in the road, the technician still said the car could not do this but it did. after they rebuilt the gearbox, engine ,replaced all the brakes again and did a complete overhaul i finally had 6 months trouble free motoring but had lost all confidence in the car so got rid. although driving this car is a pleasure the reality of owning one is very different. back to the s type for me

My 2012 has been flawless (knock wood)..It just reminded me yesterday that one of my smart keys is low on battery power..that's pretty cool..

Anybody know how to change the battery without screwing it up?

Default Jaguar XF reliability - let's get info ASAP

Unless they have changed the key fobs, you pop the two side chrome bezels off and the key separates into two halves. Easy to change the battery and clip it back together.

Thanks very much..

But to ask again, will it affect or change any of the key's link with the car because of removing the battery?..That's what I'm afraid of

No. I've changed four sets of fob batteries now, 2 x 2XFs, and no change to any of the car's functions.

no but do not press any buttons while battery is out as that can play up with programming

Our reliability stats for the XF now cover the year ending June 30, 2015. (Others are over a year behind, and so report how these cars were doing when a year younger.)

Repair trips per 100 cars:

2012 XF: 26, low, small sample size
2011 XF: 65, moderate, small sample size
2010 XF: 61, moderate
2009 XF: 54, moderate

If a model year isn't listed, or its sample size is small, then we especially need more owners involved.

We've updated our reliability stats for the XF to include owner experiences through September 30, 2015.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2012 XF: 33, low, small sample size
2011 XF: 38, low, small sample size
2010 XF: 58, moderate, small sample size
2009 XF: 59, moderate

We'll have further updates in February and in May. Additional participants are needed to provide precise stats for all model years.

We've updated our reliability stats for the XF to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2012 XF: 15, low, small sample size
2011 XF: 45, moderate, small sample size
2010 XF: 49, moderate, small sample size
2009 XF: 64, moderate

No stat, or a small sample size? Then we especially need more owners involved for that model year.

We've updated our reliability stats for the XF to include owner experiences through June 30, 2016. Reliability information elsewhere is based on a survey conducted in April 2015--well over a year ago.

Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year (lower is better):

2012 XF: 42, moderate, small sample size
2011 XF: 76, high, very small sample size
2010 XF: 86, high, small sample size
2009 XF: 60, moderate

With more participants we could provide more precise stats and cover more model years.
