Hi all, first post here on this excellent forum!

I've two key fobs for my '10 XF, but one doesn't work - the place I got the car from gave me it, its from another car I think.

Is it possible to get this coded to my car?

Is it a dealer thing or can indies do it?

If I remember, I think it has to be " deleted " from the other vehicle first, before it can be reprogrammed.

 

It will work, you will need to take both fobs to a dealer and they can reprogram both. Should cost about $85. I just bought a used one from ebay and my dealer just did it last Wednesday.

Works good.

The key blade inside the fob will not match, but the electronics will work fine (as long as both fobs are the same model and they both function).
