Default key fob review

One of my remotes got run over, by the PO, and was still functioning but held together with scotch tape. I looked all over for a replacement shell and could only find this one on Ebay.

The new shell is well made and fits exactly like OEM. The materials used are not as nice as OEM though. The shell is just plastic and does not have the rubber outer coat or the embossed Jaguar on the back. These are available but this was the only one I could find that had the key release lever and spring which mine was missing. The rubber buttons did not have the same feel as the original either but that may be because it is new.

I would up using the existing back and button pad with rest of the new parts and am satisfied withe the remote. It sure beats 160 for a replacement plus the programming fee.

Just wanted to share my experience.

I bought a body and pad kit off Ebay for $30 and it was just as nice as the factory, even came with an uncut key. Just stick with the highest customer count and satisfaction rating when you buy.
