I'm planning a long drive from Dallas to NYC and wondering if anyone else here has done a long trip with the XF. Drove an hour to visit family in my 2009 XF SC and got 23 miles to the gallon so it's not that bad. Just wondering if the long mileage at one shot is bad.

Your car will be fine, highway miles are very easy on cars compared to city stop and go driving. Only thing I would do before is make sure your tire pressures are correct, and all your fluids are topped off.

 

Drove mine several times for 1,000 km (600 miles). At highway speeds I get around 26 mpg US in my 4.2 V8, naturally aspirated. The XF is very aerodynamic and gets excellent highway fuel economy especially compared to City consumption.
