I am posting this in the hopes that someone can give me some advice regarding my 09’ XF (X250).
A few days ago I entered my garage to find that the cover for the exterior key slot was gone. Not sure what happened but I cannot find it. I have been looking for a replacement online since.
I am not even sure what the particular part is called, if I am looking correctly. I am not sure of my options either. I would like to get a replacement ASAP but I assume I could not get one in the OEM Silver. I wouldn’t mind replacing all four “covers” if I could get them in chrome or carbon fiber.
If anyone out there can give me any insight I would greatly appreciate it. This is a silly problem that is frustrating the life out of me.
The parts you need vary depending on if you have passive entry or not. If you do (and you likely do, most XFs have it) then they are C2P7221XXX for the right-hand door or C2P7224XXX for the left-hand. If you don't have passive entry, then the parts are C2P7223XXX for the right-hand door and C2P7227XXX for the left-hand. Not a lot of price difference between the two types, but avoid eBay as there are some jokers charging $80 for used ones where the new ones from online dealers are only around $30 each.
Obviously new from the dealer they arrive primed, but you could probably get away with paint/clearcoat yourself with rattle cans on something so small.
Thanks for that. I had been looking on eBay but I had no idea there were two different versions.
Just to clarify, I would assume that passive entry would be the ability to open the locked car with just having the key in your pocket. I’m fairly sure but I’d rather verify before I order the wrong part.
And by the way, I really appreciate your insight. Cheers!
