Default My new XF (Nearly)

As some of you may have seen, I posted in the Newbie section and said that I was test driving a XF at the weekend.

Well I did test drive the car and the experience was great. Far better than my 5 Series. The ride was smooth and the engine was tourqey and responsive.

To show the dealer that I was really interested, I asked if I could take the car on an extended test drive on Satuday and Sunday. The wife drove the car and was impressed with it even though it was Automatic. She took to it like a duck to water!

One of the main things I liked about the car was the rising gear selector and automatic air vents.

So after a (short) discussion with the wife we decided to BUY the XF and sell the 5er.

Heres the car i've bought: Used Cars - 2010 Jaguar XF 3.0d V6 Portfolio 4dr Auto Ultimate Black

Picking it up next Monday (4th) because I have business meetings elsewhere in the country.

Cant wait to show it off to the work colleagues

Now that I have a Jag (nearly) I can now become a 'real' member of the site.

Lucky guy. Love the XF's. What did you have a E60 5 series? Don't like those almost as much as E65 7 series. XF is a major upgrade.

Congrats. I love the looks of my XF (also in Ult Black) especially when I approach the XF from the rear or the rear/side view. It's a great profile. I'm also surprised at its length when I compare it to other cars parked next to me. It seems like a lot of car for the money. I'm 6'2" and actually have to move my seat forward although not by much.

Thanks also. As you say it has a great profile from the side. I noticed its quite long as it just managed to fit in my garage! It looks well against the wifes Golf GT

Yeah an E60, 525d M Sport. Owned it from new (2007) and it has 110,000 miles on the clock so its got good use. It was starting to give electrical problems though over the past couple of months (central locking not working, iDrive dying). Monday can't come soon enough!!

Looks great - you made a good choice! I've had my XF Supercharged for two & a half years and it still puts a big grin on my face when I drive it.
