Navi Disk Version - What's the latest?
Hi all. This is my first time posting to this forum, so forgive my newbieness.
I took my car (2011 XF) to a Jag dealer because I was experiencing issues with the infotainment system. On start, the leaper screen was flashing on-and-off, on-and-off over and over. Sometimes it would completely reboot and be OK, then it would start the whole flashing thing all over. Not good since a lot of the car's controls run through the system. Also, the exterior lights were staying on and/or flashing on-and-off intermittently when parked. My husband determined that the Auto setting was the culprit, and turning the stalk to "off" resolved that anomaly.
Of course, after driving the car the 2 hours to the nearest dealer, I experienced no issues. I left it with them anyway, but they were unable to replicate the issues I described above, even keeping it for a test drive over night to see if it happened. My assumption, after a bit of research, is that the battery got low because the car didn't move for 3 days, and that the system acted weird until it got fully charged (driving for 2 hours will do that).
The dealer also suggested installing the latest software. I said I might as well go ahead and do that since I was there.
Here's the question - I feel like the dealer sold me some snake oil. I see NO differences after the supposed install, and upon researching the diagnosis system, discovered that the disk version currently installed is V 05.09.05. Can anyone tell me if that is the latest version, and / or does anyone know what feature would tell me whether this version is "better" than the last version was? Unfortunately, I do not know what the last version was before the update was performed.
I am out $400 for all of the "diagnosing" and software update. Not to mention 8 hours of round-trip driving.
Your help is appreciated.
