Navigation pre-wire
My 2009 XF doesn't have nav but today i was looking at the sticker decal that they put on the window at the dealership when the car is new on the lot. The sticker that list all f the features specific for that car.
Under the OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT it list all of the extra items on this car:
- electric sunblind
- B&W sound sys & SIRIUS
- cold climate pack
- burl walnut veneer
- navigation pre-wire
I have all of there others on my car but the nav. Does the "pre-wire" mean I can easily upgrage my system to factory nav?

I don't think such a thing exists. The used car manager probably just put that on the list without checking with anyone knowledgeable. Even if it did exist, you'd have to buy some other module which I'm sure would be quite pricey.
I could be wrong, but I'm assuming the "prewire" just means the wiring harness used in the XF's already has the wiring/connections needed to plug in the nav components.
So in theory, one would only need to buy the used components (DVD/NAV ROM) and whatever other need nav related components and plug them into the existing plugs. There may also be the need to do a firmware update to reflect the nav option on your touch screen.
The nav rom can be had on ebay for about $200 used but i'm assuming there are some other components needed as well.
Given my phone nav is 100 times better than the factory nav I don't have plans to fork over a lot of cash to add the outdated factory nav but i was curious as to what it would take to do it.
