Yea there is absolutely no sign of a tag, who knows if it even was oem or just a remanufactured of something else...
Regardless I'm an idiot... i did some more research regarding the P0a1a-88 code (Bus off- Lin open circuit) and watched some videos; One guy explaining there is 2 different types of alternators for same car with connector being on opposite side of plug for the BCM wire, plug on alternator feels like it's seated but it's not making contact.
With that in mind but not knowing if I even had the right alternator in this case I removed it again. 🙄 becoming a pro at this!
Upon removing alternator, sure **** BCM plug was easily removed by hand even tho it felt like it was seated when I installed alternator (during first removal I had to push tab down and pry it out lightly with a tool) which wasn't the case this time.
I plugged it in with alternator installed already-or so i thought.
With both alternators side by side, connectors are identical so to my relief they are the same!
Back under the car i went with the new alternator, looked at bcm plug and yes, it should line up... i seated the plug and now I know why I was fooled, it went in and looks seated but really it's not!
i pushed harder and heard a click, this time it wasn't coming out easy! Same thing i had to grab tools to pry it out and remove it on new alternator!
I haven't installed it yet, but I think that might've been the issues this time!
I also read apparently if this plug for BCM isn't installed correctly it just bypasses it and alternator puts out, so maybe that is what I was seeing the moment I punched it a bit...
Either way, going to install this properly again in the next couple days and hopefully all will be well.
Thinking about getting the alternator i originally took out rebuilt in town, there is supposed to be a great electrician that rebuilds them for a good price.

I took the ol' girl out for a spin to town and back (1hr drive total), she is happy!
No more battery dash lights, I suppose the plug was the culprit after I installed new alternator; - Duh me!
Now Alternator does it's thing as expected... charged new battery fully, cheapy gauge showed 12-11.8V the whole time driving, but I see alternator frequently kicking in showing anywhere from 12.5-14.8V. So it's definitely charging the system and car seems happy.
Just gonna go with that for now.
I also got a trickle charger now I hook car up to everytime I park it
