New to me XF. USB & iPod power INOP. Couple other items.
Most things work as designed but I have no power at the USB or the iPod connector. Checked front BCM and the heat/vent fuse is good. Checked rear BCM and the fuse for portable audio is good. Where else should I look for a cause?
Had a bit of water in the passenger floor boards, checked the front sunroof drains and they are running clear and draining properly. Cleaned out scuttle drains. Will be looking at A/C drain next I guess.
If you lock the doors with the drivers door handle button outside, it works correctly. If you lock the doors with the remote, they seem to lock but you can pull open the drivers door and the alarm goes off.
Random faults for rear Park Assist.
Fault for right side vent roll. Which I don't care about as I leave them open but may be related?

The fibre-optics have been bypassed to eliminate the ipod / USB control unit from the circuit as it has been destroyed by water. Have a look at where I recently recent posted on this in another thread (search my recent posts, there aren't that many) and that thread will give you good info. The bluetooth module has no doubt been replaced (it would gave been drowned also) and a token gesture towards protecting it from future water damage has been made but it is still in the original location, it will get wet again and you will have a flickering main display screen. I relocated mine to the underside of the seat, well above the high-tide mark.
The door (or doors) that are not locking have dead motors in the lock mechanisms. Plenty of threads on this and an easy fix albeit a little time-consuming.
Nothing to stress about especially if the price was right, attend to these little electrical issues as they come up and enjoy the XF.

Appreciate the feedback. Actually, the BT module is sitting next to the dead iPod module. It’s the Continental TPMS module that is in the baggie. Upon inspection I found the TPMS’s wiring harness had experienced a thermal event. I spent an hour repairing it. I am curious what module may have lived next to it under the passenger seat (LHD)? I have a big green socket and a smaller gray socket without a home.

Stopped in at the dealership to show them my new project. Asked the level 4 tech if he remembers what module I may be missing. He said all cars were wired for CATS but in ‘09 only the SC ones got it.
He also suggested that the water may be coming down the A pillar during a heavy rain as the sunroof drain can only handle so much volume and the shrunken roof seals might allow too much by.

Picking up a new underbelly pan, a seat bolt, new wheel centers and a bag of panel clips at the dealer. Talking to the service manager about the water intrusion, he mentioned it’s common for the cowl covers to warp and if pouring rain gets under the covers and starts pouring close to the firewall, the water will enter the fresh air intake and flood the HVAC. So I guess I’ll be ordering new cowl covers.
