Hi all recently bought a 2012 2.2d 190hp Azurite blue with cream leather XF absolutley love the car to pieces, but when in reverse I get a loud beep and "Camera not available contact dealer" so I used my neighours OBD tool and it give me 3 codes for sensors, I thought it was odd that 3 would go all at once. so did some digging and the common failure cheapest option (60 quid) is the trunk/boot cable which I did today and no joy sadly. (spare cable available now)
What I think has happened and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I had a dead number plate bulb and when trying to replace it, I noticed the lens covers were glued/sealed in.
Once I got them open (I never re-sealed them) the camera seemed to only work when dry weather.
When wet it seemed to show that error on the screen intermittently but now it's not been working for the last couple of months at all, it flicks on with the parking sensors for a couple of seconds on cold start-up and you can see the camera working fine then back to that error again.
Any help at all would be much appreciated guys,I want to remove the camera and try this https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...camera-165252/but I'm not seeing a clear indication of how he gets the trim section off and removes the camera, and I can't find a YT video or another guide for the facelift 2012 XF
Exactly the same happend to me...I too replaced the cable with no success. All I did was to replace the sensors and has been perfect since. Wish I'd started with the sensors, much cheaper

Hi Smally, did you have 3 sensor codes too? I'm thinking that's too much of a coincidence tbh, maybe one sensor, possibly 2, but 3 within such a short time. That's why I'm thinking it's something else. Thanks anyway.
Boot loom carries the co-axial for the camera, but not the sensor wiring.
Hi John, even with access to a decent code reader it still seems like a process of elimination,I think in the back of my mind I knew that cable wasn't going to resolve it. To me it's water getting into the camera/number plate bulbs area. Are there any decent guides for camera removal? Other than the one I linked. Many thanks for helping.
You have a communication problem, you need to remove the lower deck in the console unplug the harness plugs get out the car lock it ,then come back 30mins later reconnect and you will see it go through a recovery reset process, Do not remove any battery cables leave that alone, just the lower part of the headunit hardrive
