Power Steering Noise After Warm Up in Cold Weather
I recently bought a 2014 XF 3.0 AWD. In the last few weeks, i notice a loud whining/humming noise from the power steering only after the car has been driven for 10+ miles in freezing or near freezing temperatures (below mid-30's). Everything sounds fine at start up, the car drives well, just this whining noising is really annoying, and it gets louder when you turn the steering wheel when parked or at slow speeds. The dealership looked at it, unfortunately it was warm that day so it wasn't making any noise, the mechanic checked out the power steering pump/reservoir and found no problems. They did suggest that i could try flushing the steering fluids but since the mileage is less than 30K i declined thinking that's unlikely the culprit.
Any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated... thanks!

Thanks, i will try that... although from a engineering perspective i still don't understand what is the underlying cause since the the official recommendation from Jaguar (corporate, not dealer) is that there is no need to ever change the power steering fluid.
If that doesn't work it's probably the pump itself. Mine had those symptoms about 3-4 years ago - always in cold weather and when turning. Dealer said pump was failing and replaced on Cpo warranty
