Default Racechip RS

Going to be installing the racechip on my 5.0sc today. Finally getting delivered after waiting about a week. This will be temporary I’m just curious if there will be a big difference, my XF is also flex fuel just waiting on VAP to come out with a tune for us flex fuel guys.

Is this race chip the chip that just modifies the throttle pedal position sensor readings to make it appear that you’ve pushed on the gas pedal more than you actually have?

From what I can see, all it does is give fake inputs to the PCM so it will pump out increases in timing or fatten up the mixture. It can not write to the eeprom in the PCM so it cant change things like fuel mapping to any definite parameters. I can only fake the PCM out by changing sensor inputs that the pcm uses to make changes in things like timing or fuel mixture. Im not sure Id want it over a real tune where the outputs from the pcm are changed.

Yes I believe you’re right. I did install it and it was pain to get to the sensor behind the engine. I do monitor my boost pressure and it did not change. The car does pull harder but boost remained as same before the install. I will be taking it off and returning it.

The boost sensor signal is lowered by the RaceChip so the DME sees a pressure lower than actAny OBD2 reading will be the manipulated reading that tricks the DME to make more boost.ual and thus actually raising the pressure until the target reading is red by the DME. Your pressure can only be measured with an additional boost gauge. Any OBD2 reading will be the manipulated reading that tricks the DME to make more boost.

I have two RaceChip for sale here in the for sale section. Two different versions. I forgot their names. The more expensive one made more power of course.
