Rain, rain, go away
Chasing a rain leak into the front passenger foot well. Seems to be coming down the side wall, not dripping from the filter. I see several leak posts referencing the scuttle drains, but searching the workshop manual for "scuttle" returns no hits. Can someone tell me what / where the scuttle is? There are also repeated references to the sunroof drains. Again, no help from the manual. Where do they come out?
Follow up:
Pulled cabin air filter - wet along bottom but filter dry. Chased door seal and sunroof without success. Finally took on lifting the plastic cover below the windshield ("cowl vent screen"). Not too big a job for the passenger half, and I could lift it enough to fit a piece of rod down into the seam and push through some gunk - apparently it drains into the fender well. Decided to blow it out with a hose, but needed to seal the cabin air intake first. Could not get the little piece of ducting out. The interfering bracket is a carry over from the European Passenger Protection System that pops the hood up. US cars don't include the actuators, but the mounts are still there. My hint or info is that the piece restricting removal of the air intake duct is only on with push pins. They are awkward to get at, but with a little coaxing and a little care you can get the upper piece and the duct off. Then I sealed the entry with a piece of cardboard and packing tape and blasted out the drain. Fixed.
