Reverse camera retrofit
Hello all,
I have just purchased a 2013 XF 2.2 diesel, I always liked Jaguar and previously had an X type and loved it.
anyway way as the title suggests I would like to fit a reversing camera as one is not currently installed.
how difficult will this be ? I'd assume the wiring will be present in the main loom and id only need to plug in a short loom in the boot to comment to the camera, then maybe some coding?
has anyone here fitted one or knows what is needed .
merry Christmas to all.

firstly
it can be done, and has been done
but its a little more tricky than plug and play
firstly , the boot loom has to be ' camera enabled' as in it has the coax cable to carry the video signal , this is done via a ' Fakra ' coax plug in the loom , if not, you will have to hard wire one in ,
again , another issue is the video link to the display unit in the dash , if the Fakra cable is installed, its a plug it in and enable the option via the CCF software, if no cable, you need to run a short link from the back of the display to the plug under the gear selector unit ( GSM ) , as the main loom is pre-wired to that point and to the boot lid connector ,
i would do some investigation first, and if you find the plugs, go for it
